Biographie de l'auteur
Matthew 'Ollie' Ollerton is a former Special Forces soldier and was one of the founding Directing Staff on Channel 4's hit show SAS: Who Dares Wins and SAS Australia. Ollie's military career began at the age of 18 when he joined the Royal Marine Commandos and toured operationally in Northern Ireland and in Iraq for Operation Desert Storm. He subsequently spent six years in the Special Boat Service rising to team leader, before working in Iraq as a private security contractor and carrying out anti-child-trafficking charity work in South-East Asia. Ollie now spends his time as an entrepreneur running multiple companies including Break-Point, Battle Ready and has a busy public speaking business. He is passionate about helping veterans through the Break-Point Academy and lends his support to many veteran charities. His books, Break Point and Battle Ready, have both been Sunday Times bestsellers. Scar Tissue is his first novel. --Ce texte fait référence à l'édition paperback.

He fought for you and fought his own demons it’s a must readCommenté au Royaume-Uni le 17 mai 2019
Just amazing I couldn’t put it down...Ollie’s story will have you laughing one minute, gasping in shock and tears/ lump in your throat...I’ve met Ollie and he is a perfect gentleman with an amazing sense of humour. We must remember the person that put his life at risk to keep us safe... he’s not just a guy on the program SAS who dares wins... he lived it. Support your soldiers. Thank you Ollie for letting us into your world the good the bad and hard times.

Pretty dire, actuallyCommenté au Royaume-Uni le 2 juin 2019
This book is stuffed with contradictions. Ollerton wants to portray himself as 'breaking the mould' but also maintains that Special Forces personnel have to be rigid and comply. He wants to give an impression of a warrior, protector but his personal life throughout is a mess by his own admissions and explanations. It's a tawdry, squalid tale of a geezah with a beer or Rum and Coke in one mitt, revolver or gun in t'other being breezily irresponsible. I'm chuffed off as it's tat. I'll give two stars as the spelling was spot on, mostly.

Read it in a day- honestly couldn't put it down. A brilliant read very real! I definitely recommend this book. I've been off work with depression and struggled with concentration but this boom kept me interested and really helped me

Great read covering military escapades and personal struggles.Commenté au Royaume-Uni le 3 mai 2019
Finished this book in a day - addictive reading. Ollie has had an incredibly interesting life and gets the balance right between telling stories of his military escapades versus his personal struggles really well. Very enjoyable read.

DisappointedCommenté au Royaume-Uni le 31 août 2019
Not as interesting as I'd hoped. I didn't expect to read in depth about past operations, but had hoped he'd have some interesting tales to tell. I found the book tedious in it's repeated self absorption of being misunderstood, the inevitable abuse of booze and drugs, and his shabby treatment of and lack of respect for the women who shared his world.
