The Boyfriend Effect: Frisky Business, Book 1 Livres audio Audible – Version intégrale
I’m not boyfriend material.
If a trail of broken hearts and a piss-poor record of failed relationships have taught me anything, it’s this. My buddies are happy to give me shit about my latest breakup from here to next Sunday. Thanks, but I’d rather have a root canal.
And a vasectomy.
At the same time.
Relief comes in an unlikely package - the gorgeous and feisty Maren. She just so happens to be my best friend’s sister, so that’s not awkward at all.
But I’m a man on a mission, and Maren is down to teach me all the ways I’ve been failing as a boyfriend. Apparently, there are many. And it’s all very informative - until I start to catch feelings.
Now it’s not just my reputation on the line, but my heart, too.

The Boyfriend Effect is all about Hayes and Maren. Hayes wants to commit but can’t seem to find the girl he wants to commit to and Maren has a scarred heart from her past and a massive crush she’s nursed for a long time. A crush on Hayes that is.
This is a friends to lovers/brother’s best friend romance. It’s a speedy reading coming in at 200 pages so perfect to devour over the course of an afternoon - and that’s just what I did! As well as the love story between the main characters there’s a sweet side story with Hayes’ grandmother too.
The Frisky Business series is going to focus on the owners of the eponymous adult toy store owned by Hayes and his four friends. The next in the series is about Wolfie and Penelope. I love it when a series focuses on characters that are interwoven into each story throughout so if that sounds like it’s for you be sure to check this one out!
This is a dual POV romance between Maren and Hayes. She’s his best friends little sister and they’ve been mooning over each other for a while.
I wanted to love it and, although I liked it, I didn’t love it. The central romance was lovely but I felt there were a few too many other things going on as sub plots (the grandma, the sex toys, the saving the business, the ex…🤯) I felt a sacrifice of just a couple of these things would mean the story felt more cohesive - as I say, I loved the central romance.
I will try more from this author but this book won’t be a reread.
Hayes is a business partner and best friend with Maren's brother, so he is reluctant to express his feelings for her. And his reputation for brief hook-ups with no intention to be a committed relationship has not helped. So what changed to bring to Hayes and Maren together?
Well, this book is a quick read, so I suggest you get your own copy and find out more...
