Excellent histoire avec de très bons personnages et des dialogues tout aussi excellents et comiques. Le personnage grincheux et psycho-rigide de Théo, un CEO et chercheur assez complexe était excellent face à Lizzie (une de ses employées temporaires) qui se lâche complètement en l'insultant au téléphone pour le réveiller car personne ne voulait faire. Sauf que leurs antagonismes intriguent Théo au point de soulever un nouvel intérêt pour l'anonyme effrontée.

Et un autre vainqueur avec le deuxième épisode de la série (vous n'avez pas besoin de lire le premier pour le suivre, mais on retrouve sur la fin les héros du numéro un).
C'est drôle, enlevé, chaud, romantique... on ne s’ennuie pas un instant.
J'ai adoré les personnages principaux (et secondaires aussi) et je vous le recommande chaudement

THE GOOD 😁

Enemies to Lovers is one of my favourite tropes, and this book did not disappoint. Apart from the fact that I had no idea that providing wake up calls is actually a thing (my wake up call consists of my annoying iPhone alarm blaring followed by a thump as I hoof it across the room), I just loved the clash of personalities that was Theo and Lizzie. So uptight and afraid of anything that might make him happy, Theo is on a one man quest to solve the worlds problems. Lizzie is the Social Media Manager at Vossemeer, Theo’s company, and is tasked with finding him a new wake up call service seeing as he’s driven the others to quit. From this point on madness ensues. Posing as a wake up call girl, things escalate to the point where she’s accidentally having phone sex with her boss *awkward*. The chemistry between these two was pretty intense, and Theo was one dirty talking scientist, who knew chemists were so filthy?!
Lizzie as a character was sassy, feisty and a downright delight, who refused to take any crap from Theo. Having been burned pretty badly in her last relationship (think controlling boyfriend who stole all her money and you’d be right on the money), Lizzie is determined to make her own way in the world and to not have to rely on anyone else. Coming up against Theo who liked being in control and solving problems added just the right amount of drama to the story.

THE BAD 🙁

Nothing too major, but the science terms threw me for a loop, and I found myself scratching my head at these parts. Although this is coming from a girl that didn’t exactly ace her Science GCSE so that’s hardly surprising.

OVERALLL THOUGHTS: A steamy, sassy enemies to lovers romance with a dirty talking chemist and a feisty baker.

Lizzie has a problem. Actually, scratch that, she’s got several. Falling in love with a rich, sexy Manhattanite has resulted in the loss of her business, her home, and gained her some scary new friends armed with guns who she apparently owes money to. Luckily, she’s got a job that promises a hefty bonus if she lasts a month. Unluckily, she’ll lose it unless she can find some poor sucker to wake her Billionaire new boss up every morning at 4.30am.

Theo is a rich, sexy Manhattanite, who runs his company with the same touchy-feely care he gives himself - ie none. When he’s woken up with a tirade of upbeat abuse from ‘operator seven’, rather than taking offence, he’s intrigued. Soon these calls are the highlight of his day, and he is desperate to meet the woman on the other end of the line.

Lizzie can’t let on who she is, but Theo won’t give up. He’s a man on a mission and Lizzie’s beginning to realise her time is running out.

This book is just fabulous. It’s laugh out loud funny, cute, clever, and hot as hell. I snorted so many times I lost count, and had to put aside the essentials of daily life (sleep, food, looking after my kid), just so I could finish it. If you like snarky heroines, brooding men, popcorn, cookies, and baby goats, then you’ll adore this story! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!

The Billionaires Wake Up Call Girl was a breath of fresh air. It’s only the second book I’ve read by Annika Martin but I just loved it.

It was a fun, easy read that kept me giggling throughout.

Theo was a stern, grumpy, super strict, very controlling boss who of course is super hot. I totally loved him by the end of this. In fact, by chapter 2 I think!
Lizzie is an ambitious, strong, employee who is a bit down on her luck. They both were equally likeable throughout.

Lizzie ends up having to make Theo’s wake up calls, because the man cannot deal with an alarm clock. That’s where the hilarity starts. Lizzie begins to push all Theo’s buttons. I loved seeing what was said on the calls, and found myself looking forward to the next call every time. Their banter and the chemistry was just so good! We also then got to see the aftermath play out in the office which added an extra level of enjoyment for me.

I thought the premise of this book was pretty original, I’ve read a lot of romcoms and a lot of Boss / employee books and don’t recall one having this premise and I really can’t deny I enjoyed every bit.

...We meet Theo at the end of book 1 (Most eligible billionaire) but these are standalones so you don't necessarily need to read it. I would definitely recommend it though because I had such a giggle!)

Anyway, back to Theo...Theo is a genius researcher, he had found a cute for something (something to do with blood lol) but he's now trying to work on another and when he's invested in something, he is fully invested. So much so that nothing else exists. He needs a wake-up call at 4:30am bit needless to say, he's a grump! In comes Mia, she can't get anyone to take the call position so she does it herself but the first time doesn't go to plan, she calls him out on several things, not realising that the call has connected! 😂
And it all kinda snowballs from there! I liked their story, it's cute. Not as funny as the first one but I still really enjoyed it 😁

I throughly enjoyed this book, I’ve been thinking about buying it for a while because it sounded hilarious. And it didn’t disappoint. The characters are great, Lizzie’s sass is the funniest and it’s just so fairy tale like that Theo can’t get enough of it, whilst surrounded by such yes people! Brilliant.

The first book in the series about Vicky and Henry was equally as funny. Annika Martin’s storylines aren’t far off the usual set up but they are different.

I can’t wait to get my teeth into book three about Lizzie’s amazing roommate Mia.
