Brax
Tyson Langley thinks the king in Franklin University Kings is in reference to him. Star lacrosse player and God’s gift to the female and male population, there’s nothing the spoiled jock can’t have.
It’s impossible for us to be in the same room without talking crap to each other. But I also have a secret…as much as I despise Ty, I want him too. I revel in our banter and in never knowing what he’ll say next.
I’ve spent too much time on the wrong side of the law for someone like Ty, though, and if I want to make it through college and escape my past, he’s a distraction I don’t need.
Ty
Braxton Walker needs to learn to lighten up. If you search brooding online, his name pops up. He’s the bad boy with a leather jacket and a scowl. We couldn’t be more different.
Finding ways to annoy him is like the longest foreplay session of my life. And when we end up working together, it gets harder to deny how hot he makes me.
What’s a little hooking up between enemies?
We weren’t supposed to become friends or share secrets. We weren’t supposed to understand each other and all the complicated stuff we’re going through.
I’m used to playing games, only the more time I spend with Brax, the less it feels like playing around and the more it becomes something real.

Tyson is the star of the Lacrosse Team and loves to verbally spare with the Shenanigans barman and fellow student #badboy Braxton. Braxton has to deal with so many things, college, tuition, his job, his brother, and his grandma; he doesn’t have the time to care about Tyson and his little jock friends. But this little frenemies feud will be tasted as love and hate are pretty similar sometimes.
Tyson and Braxton are just so cute, everything was well written and I just want to read it all over again 😍❤️

Braxton looks like the bad boy, dark and broody, serious about studying Computer Sciences at Franklin U, working in ‘Shenanigans” Bar part time, caring for his Grandma. His Ma deserted them when Braxton and his older brother Asher were very young. Their father is a big time loser and is in prison. He is also very open about the fact that he is gay.
Tyson is the big star on Franklin U Lacrosse Team, and he loves the attention he gets when they win. He is also enrolled in Computer Sciences which he hates, just because his wealthy father, Montgomery Langley of Langley Enterprises wants him to. He is expected to work there where he’s graduates and will inherit the company.
“Shenanigans” is where the Lacrosse Team go to celebrate after games and where Braxton and Tyson carry on bantering and “hating”on each other. Tyson is bi and often hooks up with anyone who piques his interest. Braxton gives him a hard time and teases him.
Tyson is hiding behind a facade as he has just discovered that his father is not the man he grew up respecting and wanting him to be proud of his only child.
Both these guys are adorable and despite all the verbal insults have a lot in common, even though they might not realise it.
The way they overcome all their differences belies the fact that they are on 21 years old.
So looking forward to following this series and hope Braxton ♥️♥️♥️
And Tyson ❤️❤️❤️ will pop up in future stories. Another enjoyable book from Riley Hart.

On paper these two should never have worked, they were total opposites but they didn’t just work they were perfect for each other. On the surface Brax looks like your typical bad boy, all in black, leather jacket, motorbike, broody and a loner, but he’s had a difficult life and doesn’t trust easily. He works really hard for everything he has and the future he wants and underneath his snarky exterior he has a kind heart.
Tyson’s father is rich. Ty has never wanted for anything. He has followed his fathers path to FU, also played lacrosse and was the big star and King of FU. He was also studying computer science so he could join his father’s firm, but Ty hated everything about computers! He wanted to be a nurse. Ty also had daddy issues.
A lovely part of the story was Brax’s relationship with his adorable, funny and wise grandma. She loved Brax so much and was his biggest supporter. She was also the driving force in getting Brax to realise his feelings for Ty, who also loved Brad’s grandma.
This book has kick started the series and the others are now going to have to bring their A game!

As an introduction to this new multi-author series, it also helped to set the scene for the Franklin University bar Shenanigans, which is the common link in each book.
Brax was just my kind of bad boy with a secret fluffy middle and I liked how Ty wasn't really the airhead dumb jock either.
They made me laugh with all their love language snarking as each fought against the attraction and they were smoking hot together when the dam burst!
Nice secondary plotlines dealing with some complex issues also worked well.
The specific reason I've not given it 5* is that they're only 21 and while I know plenty of people who met their lifelong partner at, or even earlier, that age, I still always feel endings are more a strong HFN with potential rather than a definite HEA.
Although I could see these two making it long term no worries 😁

There were very few negatives about the book. I'll admit it took me a little while to warm to the characters (which is more of a me thing than anything the author did wrong) but I ended up fully invested in their relationship. There are some descriptions that are repeated in nearly every scene about sex regardless of whose pov the scene is from (eg, empty my b@lls, take my lo@d) but it could easily be argued that this fits with the characters and what they find sexy. There are characters and relationships dotted in the background that are clearly setting up subsequent stories in this series but thankfully it's never intrusive.
Like Brax, I ended up absolutely loving Ty. His playfully arrogant dialogue and confidence is a huge highlight. It's something that a lot of authors may struggle to pull off without crossing the line into being annoying and unsympathetic, but it was brilliantly realised here. Ty's relationship with his friends is also wonderful, seemingly shallow at first but with plenty of depth revealed as the story goes on. They're a great group of bros and it's gratifying watching them going from loathing Brax to accepting him and cheering the couple on. Their 'love advice' is particularly adorable.
While I may have had a slow start with this book, I tore through the second half. It's a cute and spicy rom-com that I'd recommend for anyone who loves banter, raging hormones, and bad boys who are secretly softies.

Such an amazing start to the series for me and I cannot wait for the rest of them. I’m so excited for Felix and Marshall’s book next 🙌🏽
