Un bon début mais on se lasse quand même très vite. Certains points sont très répétitifs... C'est un livre qui se veut inclusif et même très 'woke' à tel point que ça en devient absurde. L'histoire en ressort très stereotypée et au final très prévisible...

Right okay if this book doesn't hit every box you are looking for this festive season then I hate to tell you this but you are living your December life wrong babe!

I'm talking body positive plus size porn star turn mainstream actress, aging bi-sexual bad boy ex-boyband member, hallmark style Christmas movie setting, excellent representation, Christmas themed strip joints with strippers named after reindeers, and a very sweet romance with a lot of hot spice.

I mean come on what more do you need?

Bee is a porn star and when her producer decides to make a mainstream Christmas movie Bee steps up to the plate at the last minute to become his leading lady, and hopes that no one will find out about her main job. She's very excited to find out that she'll be acting alongside Nolan Shaw who she's had a crush on forever.

Her leading man Nolan, is an ex-boyband member with a pretty awful bad boy reputation. He's looking to reform his image to help support his family. And even though he's been Bees number 1 fan for years his new clean image absolutely can't include dating a Porn Star.

This book is a gorgeous festive read, it's got a super Christmasy setting with lots of warm fuzzy feelings but with a bad boy & porn star edge. 😂

Read it - you'll love it. The writing is great and the characters are so likable.

I really wanted to like this book. I pre-ordered it when Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone announced it, I was that excited. Sierra’s ‘Misadventures of a Curvy Girl’ lives in my head rent free, it is that good (do go and read it if you haven’t- NOW!) and I loved the premise of this story. Fat porn star meets childhood boyband crush who is also her biggest fan - sign me up!!
What I didn’t expect was for Bee the main female character to be so … annoying. And boring. She just defines herself by sex and fancying Nolan. That is her personality. She comes across as very childlike, wants instant gratification and I really struggled to picture her physically. We know she’s fat, but not what kind of fat? I mean, there’s fat and there’s FAT (I am the latter) I like to know if there are flapping bellies and grabbable rolls in my fat heroines if they are going to be there - god knows authors describe their thin heroines down to the last inch. But she isn’t described, so to be honest I just pictured her as thin throughout as quite a few of the sex things she does would be a bit tricky/need ingenious solutions in a larger body and it’s inauthentic not to reflect this in the writing IMO.
Nolan is better fleshed out with a back story and a bit more personality. However he is also very immature, especially at work. The whole answering the phone plot device was hackneyed and frustrating and by the end I wanted to burn that bloody beanie.
I read it until the end as I felt duty bound - but that felt rushed. How the whole story is resolved is glossed over in a few paragraphs whilst far too much time is spent on irrelevance. There is no tension or build up of any kind, it’s all a bit shallow. Also the church scene is like the YA alternative to scenes in Simone’s Priest book. Sierra seems to like a church scene. In all, the book comes over as rather a cynical exercise. I finished it, begrudgingly.
Some of the side characters are fun and I started to look out for them more, which is probably a ploy to get us to buy the next one in a series. If this does happen, I think a bit more care needs to be taken in the execution.

Have you ever watched a TV Christmas Romance and wished the paper would just get it on?
Well, this is the book for you.
Nolan is an ex boy band bad boy, Bee is also Bianca, a plus size sex worker with a solid audience in the adult film industry.
Teddy has a secret identity as Uncle Ray Ray film studious.
With his first try at going 'legit', he's involved in a a Christmas rom com from Hopeflix.
An errant mammoth tusk puts the actress and half the crew in hospital and in a paperwork mix up, the director sees a picture of Bee and wants her to be her new female lead.
This book is brimming with a diverse cast of characters, half of whom work for Teddy's adult film studio.
Over two weeks of filming in a small Vermont Christmas town, lives change, sexual chemistry sizzles, love blossoms, and all manner of whacky shenanigans ensue.
This is genuinely a laugh out loud book that celebrates body Positivity, respects the sex work industry as well as different religions, cultures, women of colour queerness. And there's a large focus on real life mental health issues.
Bee is the antithesis of the skinny white girl heroine with mixed heritage, two moms, a wonderfully curvy body and she is beautiful and bi.
I adore this book and want more.
I want to see Kallum with a K, Angel, Luca and all of the rest.
More please.

I adored this book. It was cute, funny, sexy and festive, what more could you want?

Bee Hobbes is a sex worker, she loves what she does and is not ashamed. But when she takes on a lead role in a squeaky clean romantic Christmas film, costarring her teenage crush, she’s got to keep her identity a secret for the sake of the film.
Enter Nolan Shaw he’s a former boyband member who was disgraced from Hollywood after one too many scandals back in the day. He needs this movie to work out for the sake of his family, and he’ll do anything to show the world the new and improved Nolan. But when he turns up on set and see’s Bee, the object of all his fantasies, it turns out she isn’t the only one who’s been crushing for her co star…

There were so many positive conversations around body positivity, sexuality, mental health and sex work, this is what made me love this story so much more.

I really enjoyed the side characters as well and would love to see them in their own books in the future!

Bee and Nolan are my bisexual king and queen! Honestly it warmed my bi heart! I adored their relationship, and I loved how much he worshipped her, I adored how Bee was plus sized and confident, sexy and desirable! I’m just completely obsessed!

The spice in this book was on another lever so good, so hot!
Can’t recommend enough!

Okay, I will hold my hand up and admit that I am the bad bookworm who judged this book by its cover. I saw it on NG and dismissed it as a twee Christmas book. More fool me, especially as not judging a book by its cover is one of the main themes of the book!

I kept seeing this book mentioned everywhere, getting rave reviews. I read the blurb and knew I had to give it a go and wow am I glad I did. It’s everything you want from a festive read and more. It’s sweet and steamy and funny. The exact right balance of heartwarming without being cheesy. I loved that it not only included a plus sized main character but also made her desirable and empowered. So refreshing to read that. I would definitely recommend it.
